Snowflake Obsidian comes from the raw energy of the Earth. It’s the pure remains of lava that explodes and cools from a volcano. From a physical standpoint, it’s very similar to Black Obsidian. Called Cristobalite, these slight inclusions are a product of trapped minerals that can’t escape as the lava cools. They form snowflake-like patterns all through the glass. They’re a high-contrast detail that looks beautiful when the Obsidian is cut and polished.
